Today we live in an exciting time where we have a unique resource pool from multiple generational periods that bring different traits. The Baby Boomers have been operating in the business environment during the technological transformation, which has changed the way we do business today. Generation Y grew up in the technological boom and brings a very creative and innovative maturing mindset to the business world. The Generation X leaders of today are the critical bridge between the Baby Boomer’s and Gen Yer’s who have very opposing views of the world today.

Generation X View on Innovation

Innovation is a term that is often overused and sometimes even incorrectly used in the business environment today. Some companies add innovation to their values, with the significance built around developing a culture of continuous idea generation towards their products and services, which aims to grow the company’s business value to the market. However, I believe innovation goes even deeper.

Manage the Generation Gaps

Over the past few decades our lives have really changed with the advancements of technology. Our parents read comic books to past time as kids. Today our kids are playing handheld electronic games. The rapid change in technology created a huge increase of efficiencies, and a diverse presence within the workforce. The way we do business and enjoy life has been altered by this technology advancement, and has created generation gaps.
